Four-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Eagle-and-Banner Decoration, Stamped "WM E. WARNER. / WEST-TROY.," NY State origin, circa 1855, cylindrical crock with semi-rounded rim and applied lug handles, decorated with a large slip-trailed design of a flying eagle holding a spotted banner in its beak. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. CONDITION UPDATE- An approximately 2 3/4" professionally-restored section to rim on front with a 3 1/2" professionally-restored line descending from it. This line continues downward as an unrestored, very-tightly-sealed line, which curves to the left across eagle. Otherwise excellent condition with a tiny chip to one handle. H 10 3/4".
