One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, WV origin, circa 1870, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded rim, decorated with a looping slip-trailed stem culminating in a brushed flower blossom. Folky dotted and dashed accents to decoration. Jars of related form and color were produced by J.P. Parker of Jane Lew, WV. Provenance: From a fifty-year private collection. Excellent, essentially as-made condition. Excellent condition with some minor white paint spatter on reverse and a faint, white chalk inscription on underside. H 10 3/4".
