Two-Gallon Stoneware Water Cooler with Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1880, cylindrical cooler with footed base, tooled shoulder, squared rim, and applied lug handles, the base fitted with a large circular bunghole. Front decorated with a double-stemmed tulip plant. Reverse decorated with brushed foliate motifs at the shoulder. Cobalt swags below each handle. Cobalt highlights to bunghole and handle terminals. Very nice condition with some rim chips and a 1 1/4" salt drip to reverse. H 11 7/8".
