Very Rare Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Bottle, Edgefield District, SC, circa 1840, semi-ovoid form with short neck and tooled spout, the surface covered in a gray-green alkaline glaze. Relatively few Edgefield stoneware bottles have survived. Spout broken and reglued, including small losses along reglued breaks, a 1/2" chip to interior of spout, and other small spout chips. Some old traces of paint to surface. H 5 7/8".
