Three Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jars, Western PA origin, circa 1875, a six-gallon semi-ovoid jar, stenciled "FROM / E. FOWLER / BEAVER. PA;" a six-gallon semi-ovoid jar, stenciled "E. FOWLER / BEAVER. PA;" and a five-gallon semi-ovoid jar with brushed tulip and spot decorations. "FROM / E. FOWLER" jar with a Y-shaped line to shoulder on reverse, a chip to one handle, a small base chip, some fry to cobalt, and minor chips and wear to inner rim. Other Fowler jar with bloated spots throughout, a chip to one handle, and tiny nicks to inner rim for lid, staining to surface, and some residue to underside. Five-gallon jar is out-of-round with a long crack extending from underside up front, an in-the-firing surface chip to right of decoration, an in-the-firing base chip, and three small chips to interior of rim.
