Three-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration and Paired Lid, attributed to Henry Harrison Remmey or Richard Clinton Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1860, ovoid jar with footed base, flared collar, and ribbed lug handles, decorated on the front and reverse with a flowering garland extending from handle to handle, below a wavy freehand stripe. Wavy cobalt brushwork below each handle and cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Paired with Remmey, Philadelphia lid with brushed floral motifs around edge. Jar with restorations throughout. Lid with a chip and exfoliation to knob.
