Two Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jugs, American, third quarter 19th century, a two-gallon cylindrical jug with brushed tulip motif, attributed to Samuel Irvine, Newville, PA; paired with a three-gallon cylindrical jug with curved floral motif accented with spots, probably New Jersey origin. Two-gallon jug with wear to spout, numerous in-the-firing pings to surface, and some surface wear. Three-gallon jug in excellent, essentially as-made condition.
