Two Three-Gallon Stoneware Jars with Cobalt Decoration, Stamped "P. HERRMANN," Baltimore, MD, circa 1875, both of cylindrical form with squared rims and applied lug handles, one with brushed tulip motif on front and reverse, one with brushed clover motif on front and reverse. Both impressed with Peter Herrmann maker's marks. Floral-decorated jar with base chips and a spider line across underside, including hairlines extending up body of jar. Clover-decorated jar in excellent condition with some faint surface lines to exterior of rim, a chip to exterior of rim, and a chip to interior of rim.
