Stoneware Canning Jar with Stenciled Cobalt Cherries Decoration, Stenciled "Greensboro," attributed to Hamilton & Jones, Greensboro, PA, circa 1875, tapered jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded "wax sealer" rim, decorated with a stenciled cluster of cherries below the town name, "Greensboro." A small drip of Albany slip below the "ro" in "Greensboro." Large area of restoration to rim on reverse. Two minor chips to shoulder molding. H 8 1/8".
