Three-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "NEW YORK / STONEWARE CO. / FORT EDWARD, N.Y.," circa 1875, cylindrical crock with semi-rounded rim and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a crested bird with long tail, perched on a stylized leaf. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Surface lines to underside, not visible on interior. Some light exfoliation to rim and shoulder area. Some staining to surface, primarily to reverse.
