Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Dead Bird Decoration, attributed to the Fulper Pottery, Flemington, NJ, late 19th century, cylindrical jug with squared spout, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a dead bird with closed eyed above a stylized foliate motif, applied over a Bristol- slip-coated surface. A few small base chips. Some staining to surface. Two spout chips. An in-the-firing surface chip / contact mark to shoulder on reverse. An in-the-firing iron ping to side of jug.
