Three-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Starburst Decoration, Stamped "C.W. BRAUN / BUFFALO. N Y.," circa 1870, ovoid jug with semi-squared spout, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a spotted circle surrounded by graduated rays and clustered spots. A 1 1/2" surface flake beside decoration. Surface lines around shoulder and around upper handle terminal. Chips to top of spout. Spider crack on underside, continuing onto base area. An area of surface wear to reverse below handle.
