Rare One-Gallon Pittsburgh, PA Stoneware Advertising Jug, Stenciled "MADE BY / T.F. REPPERT / GREENSBORO / PA.," Greensboro, PA origin, circa 1880, cylindrical jug with tooled spout, featuring the stenciled cobalt advertising, "GEO. A. KELLY & CO. / WHOLESALE / DRUGGISTS. / COR. WOOD ST. & FIRST / AVE. / PITTSBURGH. PA." Further stenciled below with the stenciled signature, "MADE BY / T.F. REPPERT / GREENSBORO / PA." Freehand stripe decoration to shoulder and base. Cobalt highlight to upper handle termina. The inclusion of Reppert's stenciled maker's mark at the base of the jug is rarely seen on pieces of this type. Very nice condition. Horizontal Y-shaped hairline through handle. A small piece of adhered clay to shouder. A small unburst ping to left of stenciling. Some light staining.
