Stoneware Jug with Impressed Floral Decoration, attributed to Jonathan Fenton, Boston, MA, late 18th century, ovoid jug with footed base, flattened spout, and tooling to shoulder and spout, decorated with an impressed and cobalt-highlighted design of a flower. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Horizontal crack through handle. A 1 1/8" chip to side of spout. Some in-the-firing residue to surface. An in-the-firing contact mark near base on reverse. Two minor lines to foot. A minor base chip. Some mottling to surface. H 12 1/2".
