One-Gallon Iron-Decorated Stoneware Jug, Stamped "CHARLESTOWN," Frederick Carpenter, Charlestown, MA, circa 1812-1827, ovoid jug with footed base, heavily-tooled shoulder, and tooling below spout, decorated with dipped iron-oxide slip to the top spout and base. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with some firing flaws, including a small in-the-firing chip to shoulder and handle and a small in-the-firing ping to midsection.
