Stoneware Canning Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, VA origin, circa 1865, ovoid jar with flaring mouth and inner rim to hold a lid, decorated on the front and reverse with a large sweeping flower featuring open-center, three-petaled flowers. A top-to-bottom crack on one side, adjoining a 3 1/2" section of two reglued pieces at rim. Base chips. Some staining to base area. H 9".
