One-Gallon Manganese-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Signed "G N Fulton," Alleghany County, VA, circa 1875, semi-ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and flattened rim, decorated in reddish-brown manganese slip with the name, "G N Fulton," surrounded by floral and swag designs. A 1 7/8" rim chip. A few other small rim chips and rim wear. A 1 1/4" surface chip (contact mark) to right side of jar. An in-the-firing contact mark to shoulder area on left side of jar's front. A spider crack on underside, extending onto shoulder on front. Some wear to interior.
