Two Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Pitchers, Mid-Atlantic origin, mid 19th century, a one-gallon pitcher with floral and foliate decorations and a brushed heart at spout, attributed to Henry Harrison Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, paired with a one-and-a-half-gallon pitcher with swag-and-hanging-flower motif, Baltimore, MD origin. Remmey pitcher with poorly-restored handle, a large area of restoration to collar on reverse, a large spot of salt residue to reverse, and a base chip. Other pitcher with restoration to base and restoration to a Y-shaped crack on left side body of pitcher, restoration to spout, a small chip to molding at base of collar, a tiny chip to underside at edge, and unrestored hairlines.
