Rare Glazed Redware Jug, Stamped Twice "A. WILCOX / West Bloomfield," Ontario County, NY origin, circa 1850, ovoid jug with tooled shoulder and tapered spout molding, the surface covered in a dark-maroon lead-based glaze with appealing crawling throughout. Impressed with Alvin Wilcox maker's mark on spout and at base. Excellent condition with some fairly minor, in-the-firing chipping to spout, a tiny chip to side of handle, and a smooth in-the-firing contact mark on handle. H 11".
