Slip-Decorated Redware Jar, attributed to Nathaniel Rochester, West Bloomfield, NY, circa 1818-1832, ovoid jar with footed base, tall collar, and applied lug handles, the lead-glazed surface decorated with faint, yellow-green copper slip and brown manganese slip splashes over a mottled orange ground. Heavy chipping to base. Surface wear. A 2 1/4" shallow in-the-firing flake to top of rim, a 1" in-the-firing flake to top of rim, and a minor chip on top of rim. H 9 1/2".
