Very Rare Two-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Pitcher, Dated 1881, Palatine, WV origin, 1881, ovoid-bodied pitcher with tall collar and semi-rounded rim, decorated across the body and along the spout with freehand striping. Reverse/side of pitcher features the highly-unusual freehand cobalt date, "1881." Additional stripe decoration to handle. Excellent, essentially as-made condition. H 11 3/4".
