Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "E & L P NORTON / BENNINGTON, VT," circa 1870, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, flared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a crested bird perched on a leaf. Light cobalt accents to maker's mark and capacity mark. Excellent condition with some light water glass staining and some tiny nicks to inner rim for lid.
