One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "J. & E. NORTON / BENNINGTON, VT," circa 1855, cylindrical jug with squared spout, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a bird perched on a stylized branch. Cobalt highlight to maker's mark. An errant spattering of cobalt on reverse. Excellent, essentially as-made condition.
