Two-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Clover Decoration, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1865, ovoid pitcher with semi-rounded rim, decorated on the front with a two-stemmed clover plant motif as well as along the collar with brushed clovers. Spout decorated with foliate brushwork. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Areas of restoration including a small area of painted touch-up to base of decoration. A small in-the-firing flaw to interior of rim where spout meets rim. A faint 2 1/4" line from rim on side of pitcher near reverse.
