One-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to Henry H. or Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1865, ovoid pitcher with footed base and tooled collar, decorated with two tulips flanking a central swag motif. Cobalt swag decoration to each side of collar and flanking the spout. Two shallow chips to left edge of spout. Restoration to base with a 7 1/2" restored crack emanating from it, to right of decoration. A 3 3/8" restored crack rim on reverse. A few in-the-firing iron pings to surface. Restoration to base on left side of pitcher. A 2" hairline from rim on right side of pitcher. A short hairline to lower handle terminal.
