Five-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "J. WEAVER.," Beaver, PA origin, circa 1865, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, flattened rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with an undulating vine bearing open-centered fuchsias, applied over slip-coated clay. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and handle terminals. Impressed "5" to shoulder and rim. Light wear to surface. A Y-shaped hairline on underside, which forms a T at base. A small chip to interior of rim.
