Scarce Two-Gallon Stoneware Flowerpot with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "NEW YORK STONEWARE CO., " Ft. Edward, NY origin, circa 1875, tapered pot with attached saucer, tooled shoulder, and semi-rounded rim, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a crested bird perched on a leaf. Excellent condition with a shallow 7/8" flake to interior of rim and a 1 5/8" Y-shaped surface line to reverse, a minor chip to saucer, and a slight in-the-making dent to side of saucer. H 9 3/8" ; Diameter 10 7/8".
