Four-Gallon Stoneware Jar, Stenciled "R.T. WILLIAMS / MANUFACTURER / NEW GENEVA. / PA," circa 1880, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with freehand straight and wavy stripes to the shoulder and base, a freehand "4" flanked by diagonal slashes at the base, and R.T. Williams maker's stenciling to midsection, including freehand flourishes flanking the abbreviation "PA." Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Numerous chips to one handle. A small chip to end of opposite handle. Otherwise excellent condition.
