Fine Small-Sized Redware Spittoon, New England origin, mid 19th century, cylindrical form with footed base, tooled shoulder, and carved oval hole at shoulder, the surface covered in a mottled greenish lead glaze over a red and orange ground. Strong color, exceptional size, and remarkable condition on an uncommon New England form. Excellent, essentially as-made condition. H 2 1/4" ; Diam. 4 5/8".
