One-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "COWDEN & WILCOX. / HARRISBURG .PA," circa 1865, ovoid pitcher with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded rim, decorated with two tulips conjoined at the stem. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and handle terminals. Amateur restoration to handle. A 6 1/2" Y-shaped line from rim on reverse, emanating from a filled 1 1/4" x 1" flake to rim. Some faint surface crazing to right side of pitcher. Some small spots of fry to cobalt. Light staining. Two minor nicks to spout area.
