Three Stoneware Advertising Jugs, American, fourth quarter 19th century, an ovoid, Albany-slip-glazed scratch jug, incised "Compliments of / McJunkin & Mitchell / Pure Vinegar / Beaver Pa;" a one-gallon salt-glazed jug with the cobalt-stenciled advertising, "JOHN MCCULLOUGH. / WINES / LIQUORS. / LIBERTY ST / PITTS PA;" and an Albany-slip-glazed jug with the white slip stenciling, "A. ANDRIESSON/ WHOLESALE LIQUOR / DEALER / 172 Federal St / ALLEGHENY, PA." Beaver, PA jug in excellent, essentially as-made condition. Pittsburgh, PA jug with glue glass stopper or marble in spout, in otherwise excellent condition. Allegheny, PA jug in excellent condition with some faintness to stenciling and a minor spout chip. H (of Beaver, PA jug) 6 3/8".
