One-and-a-Half-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Parrot Decoration, Stamped "FORT EDWARD / POTTERY CO.," Ft. Edward, NY, circa 1859, cylindrical jar with rounded shoulder and semi-rounded rim, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a crested parrot perched on a leaf. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Bubbling to cobalt. Some bubbling to cobalt with later varnish added over decoration.
