Three-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Pheasant-on-Stump Decoration, Stamped "HAXSTUN OTTMAN & CO. / FORT EDWARD, N.Y.," circa 1875, cylindrical jug with semi-squared spout, decorated with a large slip-trailed design of a pheasant with turned head, perched on a tree stump flanked by shrubs. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. A salt drip to front and shoulder on reverse. Some light surface wear. An in-the-firing line to lower handle terminal. Some light surface wear. Two small in-the-firing iron pings to base area on reverse.
