Rare Two-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar with Stenciled Cross and Mug Motifs, Stenciled "J.P. PARKER / JANE LEW / W VA.", circa 1870, semi-ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and semi-squared rim, decorated with a stenciled cross surrounded by four stars, including a stenciled "2" to the left. The base of this jar includes a rare stenciled design of a handled mug with footed base. Excellent, essentially as-made condition.
