One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar with Allegheny City, PA Advertising, Greensboro, PA origin, circa 1875, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded rim, featuring the stenciled cobalt advertising, "HENRY LENZ / DEALER IN / FINE GROCERIES / 185 SPRING GARDEN / AVE. / ALLEGHENY CITY. / PA.". Freehand stripe decoration to shoulder and base. Excellent, essentially as-made condition.
