Rare Twenty-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Stenciled "UNION POTTERY CO. / POINT MARION, PA", Leander Dilliner and Omar Dils, circa 1897-1900, very-large-sized jar with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, featuring the large stenciled signature, "UNION POTTERY CO / MANUFACTURERS OF / BLUE STONEWARE / POINT MARION / PA". Stenciled flourishes accent the maker's mark and small stenciled sunbursts flank the abbreviation, "PA". Base with freehand "20", flanked by dashes. Exceptional size from a short-lived, Fayette County pottery. Excellent condition with a small chip to interior of rim and some minor surface wear. H 25 1/2".
