Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Grapes Decoration, Stamped "COWDEN & WILCOX / HARRISBURG, PA", circa 1865, ovoid jug with tapered spout, decorated with a brushed design of a cluster of grapes, hanging from a leafy stem with vines. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Tiny chips to spout and a minor in-the-firing base chip, which is partially glazed over. Some faint traces of old red paint to surface.
