Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Butter Crock, Philadelphia, PA origin, circa 1875, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, squared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated on the front and reverse with a brushed swag motif. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals and a wavy line of cobalt underneath each handle. Excellent condition with a very faint 1 1/2" line from rim and a small in-the-firing lime ping to side of crock near base. H 5" ; Diameter 8".
