One-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to R.J. Grier, Chester County, PA, circa 1875, ovoid pitcher with footed base, tooled collar, and squared rim, decorated with a large horizontal floral motif flanked by swags. Spout decorated with swags flanking a series of dashes. Additional small swag motifs to sides of collar. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with some in-the-firing dryness to cobalt.
