Extremely Rare Stoneware Canning Jar, Stamped "R.J. GRIER," Chester County, PA origin, circa 1875, semi-ovoid jar with narrow, flaring mouth, the surface covered in a salt glaze. One of a small number of signed examples of Ralph J. Grier's work known, this jar was likely made to preserve fruit or possibly oysters. Excellent, essentially as-made condition. H 9".
