Rare Quart-Sized Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Clover Decoration, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1850, ovoid pitcher with flared base and tooled accents to body and rim, decorated on the front with a large two-stemmed clover plant design. Spout flanked by large swags. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Exceptional size. A thin sealed crack on underside, extending approximately 2 1/4" up base of pitcher on reverse, where it forms a Y. A shallow 5/8" base chip. H 7 1/8".
