Two One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jars, Harrisburg, PA origin, circa 1865-1880, both of cylindrical form, one with brushed flower blossom, stamped "COWDEN & WILCOX / HARRISBURG. PA", the other with stylized stenciled design, stamped "F.H. COWDEN / HARRISBURG". Cowden & Wilcox jar with large rim chips, a very large, tight X-shaped line under one handle, chips to one handle, and a tiny nick to opposite handle. F.H. Cowden jar in excellent condition with a faint 1 1/4" surface line from rim, not visible on interior, and some light staining.
