Two Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jars, Central PA origin, circa 1865-1875, a one-gallon cylindrical jar with spitting tulip decoration, stamped "COWDEN & WILCOX / HARRISBURG", paired with a one-gallon, unmarked ovoid jar with similar spitting tulip decoration. Cowden & Wilcox jar with several large rim chips and a small spot of fry to cobalt. Other jar with a 3" heavily-chipped section to rim and a 3 1/2" hairline from rim on reverse.
