Two Pieces of Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware, PA origin, circa 1870-1885, a one-gallon jug with stenciled motif, stamped "F.H. COWDEN / HARRISBURG", paired with a half-gallon cylindrical jar flowering vine motif, attributed to D.P. Shenfelder, Reading, PA. Cowden jug with some light surface wear, a tiny nick to spout, and staining. Shenfelder jar with thin cracks extending from rim to shoulder, a small flake to top of rim, and some faintness and bubbling to cobalt.
