Rare One-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "D.P. SHENFELDER / READING. PA." circa 1875, cylindrical form with tooled accents, rounded upper body, and tall collar with heavily-tooled rim, brush-decorated across the body with three open-centered flowers emanating from undulating stems. Additional floral decoration to the sides of the collar. Diagonal dash decoration flanking the spout. Cobalt highlight to lower handle terminal. Some tight lines to base. Minor crazing to underside. Chipping to spout. One rim chip. Light staining around midsection. H 11".
