Rare Three-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped Four Times "NORTON & FENTON / East Bennington, Vt.", circa 1844-1847, squat-shaped jug with semi-squared spout, decorated with a brushed flowering vine design. Shoulder impressed with cobalt-highlighted maker's mark and capacity mark, above three additional "NORTON & FENTON / East Bennington, Vt." maker's marks. Excellent condition with some light staining, a minor nick to side of spout, light chipping to handle, and a chip and minuscule nick to underside of jug.
