One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Incised Foliate Decoration, attributed to Stonington, CT origin, circa 1825, ovoid jug with tooled spout, decorated with an incised and cobalt-highlighted foliate design in the Manhattan style. Crudely-restored handle. A very tight, 5" Y-shaped line to side of jug at shoulder. A few typical in-the-firing contact marks to surface.
