Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar, Stamped "PAUL : CUSHMAN", Albany, NY, early 19th century, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and applied lug handles, featuring the coggled maker's mark of Paul Cushman at the midsection. Brushed cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Provenance: Collection of Harry Meyer, McDonald, PA. A 2 1/4" crack on underside, continuing 2 1/8" up front. A thin 6" crack from rim on reverse. A 5" surface line from rim on reverse, not visible on interior. A chip on interior of rim. A 3/4" chip on interior of rim. A small in-the-firing chip to reverse of one handle.
