Rare Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped Twice "BOYNTON", Jonah and Calvin Boynton, Albany, NY, circa 1815-1820, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and applied lug handles, decorated on the front and reverse with a brushed flower blossom. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Boynton maker's mark impressed diagonally on shoulder and horizontally along rim. Excellent condition. Base with a chip and minor nick. Rim with two small rim chips and a minor nick. A minor, glazed-over ping below rim. Reverse with two small in-the-firing pings and two minor in-the-firing contact marks.
