Two-Gallon Wheeling, WV Stoneware Advertising Jug, Western PA origin, circa 1875, ovoid jug with tooling to shoulder and spout, featuring the stenciled cobalt advertising, "RICHARDSON, GOODWIN / & CO. / WHOLESALE / DRUGGISTS / 222 MAIN ST. / WHEELING. W. VA.". Small stenciled tulip motifs above, and stenciled "2" with flourishes below. Freehand stripe to shoulder and base. Brushed cobalt highligth to upper handle terminal. Handle broken into three pieces and reglued. Otherwise excellent condition with some molasses(?) residue to underside.
